ACCOMODATIONS 

Pine Needles Lodge and Mid Pines Inn will both serve as the host properties for the tournament.  If you have a preference, please indicate that when signing up, or to Tournament Director Adam Rogers. Three nights of accommodations are part of the tournament package and are for Thursday evening, October 8 through Sunday morning, October 11. If you would like to come early or stay later please make those reservations individually by calling the resorts at (800) 747-7272.

 

AIRPORT 

Participants should make reservations into one of three local airports: Fayetteville Regional (FAY), which is approximately 1 hour from the resort; Raleigh-Durham International (RDU), which is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from the resort; or Charlotte Douglas International (CLT), which is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes from the resort. As inclement weather may delay play, please make your departing flight as late as possible. We suggest making return flights after 5:30 p.m. (FAY or RDU) or after 6:30 p.m. (CLT) on Sunday, October 11.

 

GROUND TRANSPORTATION  

If you need transportation from the airport to the resort please call either Kirk Tours at (910) 295-2257 or Safeway Transportation at (910) 692-3125.  If you need additional help please do not hesitate to contact Tournament Director, Adam Rogers, at arogers@globalgolfpost.com.

 

PRACTICE ROUND  

There is not a sanctioned practice round for the tournament.  However, if you would like to play a practice round prior to the tournament, the resorts have booked a small window of tee times on Thursday, October 8 and have extended a discounted rate of $120 for those interested.  Please call the Pine Needles pro shop at (910) 692-7111 to make these arrangements.

 

PLAYER REGISTRATION

Players Registration will be held Thursday, October 8, from 2 – 6 p.m. in the main lobby of both Mid Pines and Pine Needles. At this time, tournament participants will receive their tournament gifts, information and hotel keys.  Players unable to register at this time should notify Tournament Director Adam Rogers prior to November 12 at (770) 825-1001.

 

TOURNAMENT WELCOME & PAIRINGS PARTY

On Thursday, October 8, Callaway Golf and Global Golf Post will host a Pairings Party at Pine Needles.  All tournament participants are invited to attend for good times, door prizes and food.  A cash bar will also be available for those individuals interested.

 

TOURNAMENT TEE TIMES

First- and Second-Round tee times are as follows: 8:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. off the No. 1 tee. The first round will be played at Pine Needles while the second round will be played at Mid Pines.  The final round with be held at Pine Needles in a shotgun format starting at 8:30 a.m. Both the Champions and Senior Divisions will play the same golf course each day.  A tie for the championship will be decided by a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. 

 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

Each division will compete in 54 holes of medal (stroke) play with 18 holes conducted daily over October 9 - 11, 2015.  All players in each division will compete at the same golf course each day.  Friday, October 9 - Pine Needles Golf Club.  Saturday, October 10 - Mid Pines Golf Club.  Sunday, October 11 - Pine Needles Golf Club.

 

YARDAGES

Each division will play from different sets of tees.  Champions Division will play from approximately 6,700 - 6.900 yards. Senior Division will play from approximately 6,400 - 6,700 yards. 

 

RULES OF PLAY

Play will be governed by the 2012-2015 Rules of the United States Golf Association, the 2012-15 Decisions on the Rules of Golf, and by the Local Rules and Definitions established by the Global Golf Post Rules Committee. All special questions will be settled by the Global Golf Post Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. The Rules Committee reserves the right to make any changes in conducting this Championship as are deemed necessary or appropriate.

 

FIELD

100-player field split into two divisions, with each division's size determined by the number of registrants.

OTHER INFORMATION: 

  • The Rules Committee has adopted the note to Rule 14-3 regarding the usage of distance-measuring devices in all competitions. Devices will be allowed, but must be conforming to Rule 14-3.
  • Caddies are not permitted as all participants will have the use of a motorized cart. 
  • Proper attire is required at all times and failure to comply may result in disqualification.
  • Local rules and detailed tournament conditions will be provided prior to the start of the tournament.
